Company History

2009

GFC Media Group is founded by Alex Johnson as a specialised financial conferences business focused on the Middle East.

2010

In June, GFC Media Group hosts its first-ever event in Dubai, Bonds & Loans Middle East, attended by 220 people; and in October hosts META Projects in Abu Dhabi, attended by 180 people; and M&A and Corporate Finance MENA in Doha, attended by 200 people.

2011-12

Due to high demand from clients, GFC Media Group hosts Bonds & Loans conferences in Turkey, Russia, Brazil, Mexico and Africa.

2013

GFC Media Group launches Mining & Investment Latin America Summit in Peru – the first and only event bringing Latin American miners together with investors, bankers and financiers, attended by 380 people.

2014

GFC Media Group launches Awards to recognise industry excellence in Turkey and the Middle East.

2015

Over 5000 people attend GFC events – 8 Conferences and 2 Awards in 4 continents.

2016
  • Bonds & Loans expands GFC Media Group into producing Magazines, Special Reports, to provide more detail and understanding about what is discussed at our events, focusing on a specific market or country.
  • Bonds, Loans & Sukuk Middle East 2016 becomes the first GFC event attended by over 1000 people, making it the world’s largest Sukuk investor conference and the largest corporate and investment banking event in the Middle East and Africa.
  • Due to high demand from our clients and contacts, GFC Media Group launches Bonds, Loans & Derivatives Argentina focused entirely on the development of Argentina's debt markets, onshore and offshore.

  • We expand our portfolio in Africa by launching the briefing days in Kenya and Nigeria
